Do you check out the status table on the right and peek at other Flutheronians Great Questions?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) September 8th, 2010

When you see a “great Question” announcement on the status plane on the right, do you check out that question? How often do you find a good question to answer when you peek at the list? Can you remember one of the better questions you had found that way?

It’s basically how I fluther.

I initially objected to the whole lurve, awards, feed thing – it was distracting for me – both physically (vision-wise) and mentally; now I just go with the flow and use it. I check out the GQ’s and usually find about 7 of 10 would have been of interest to me anyway.

Yes i do, because otherwise i would miss some really GQ’s

I don’t. I use My Questions, and then if the cupboard is bare I look at the whole list of questions.

I have found GQs to be too subjective.

Its a good way to cut to the chase.

Often. I’ve found some interesting older threads that way.

I use it quite often and have found several great questions I would have missed otherwise. I also look to the community feed to find out who’s about to have a party:P.

By the way, Congrats on 5K!

I’m like @marinelife. I use the questions the computer picks for me and then I start scrolling through all the questions, if necessary. I never even notice what is going on in that list to the right. Occasionally I’ll see my name or I’ll see that someone has hit 10K or 20k, but that’s more a nuisance than a help.

In fact, I don’t even know what you’re talking about. If you looked at every question that gets a “great question,” wouldn’t you be looking at as many questions as are in your personal list? That seems somewhat inefficient.

I’ve never done it.

I don’t. It will quickly change its format anyway. I usually check and answer question as manually as possible.

I do it for GQs all the time. I have found some really great questions that I missed by doing it.

@iammia ditto….but, i’ve never done it. Should.

Yup. When I run out of questions, that’s where I go to. Plus, it might be an answer or a question that might deserve some more lurving.

I have from time, to time. If I had more time to browse, I’d probably do it more often.
