What happens to the money in fountains?

I think the water pixies use it to buy some angel dust & together they get high.Although I could be wrong :¬)

Depends on the location I’m sure, I know some places will donate the money to certain charities.

If you are looking for a overall type rule/law, I don’t there is one.

Sometimes people actually wade in and take it.

Good question. Sometimes it will go to a charity, but usually there are signs posted to share that info with visitors. If there’s no sign, I’d assume that it goes to whoever cleans out the fountain.

@troubleinharlem It did! I love that book! I wonder how many little kids (and kids at heart) were inspired to go prospecting in fountains as a resultt?

GQ. After visiting Rome, I wondered the same thing about the Trevi Fountain’s coins. Despite their desire to have the money go to the city’s needy, one person has turned it into his income.

@troubleinharlem You’ve never seen Goonies? Classic movie from the 80s. Not scary, fun to watch with kids. It may be a little dated these days, but my 12 year old daughter watched it recently and thought it was cool.
