“Would linking a social web site to Facebook create an influx of rude behavior?”?

Asked by Anonymously (43points) September 10th, 2010

Recently Answerbag connected it’s service to Facebook. If you’ve recently asked question(s)on Answerbag, have the answers you received really address your questions in a sincere and helpful way? Is it possible that this change was recent and caused by the linking to Facebook?

When one begins to write in the answerbox on answerbag when answering a question, there is a note suggesting to, “Try to make sure your answer really addresses the question in a helpful way. The more sincere your answer, the better Answerbag becomes.”
Now from my experience on the site so far, I feel like people aren’t really addressing the questions in a sincere and helpful way. Most are responding with answers loaded with assumptions. I’ve only been using it for a short while and thought it would be helpful to get others’ experience of the answers they have received and why this might be the case.

Well, you’re on Fluther now, and we have stringent quality standards, so enjoy your stay and forget about Answerbag. That place is a total craphole these days. It’s going to wind up like Yahoo Answers.

Fluther is a different kettle of…um…not fish…jellies altogether. Dive right in. Start answering questions the way you’d like to receive answers: thoughtful and helpful. And ask a few questions that you’re really curious about.
