Depak Chopra is full of new age woo. Larry King gives good interviews UNLESS he’s interviewing someone who believes in the paranormal and pseudoscience. Then he gives them free rein.

I loved when Leonard Mlodinow slipped and said…. “some spooky other thing..” whilst he and his co author were refusing to discose what their views on religion might be.

He also stated that they were not trying to suggest that there is no God, but that a God is not necessary according to scientific principles. Of course they had no explanation for what happened before the “Big Bang”. So I was not clear about how they felt that some sort of causation factor might be “necessary”.

My other favorite part was the quote which Depak Chopra offered at the end of the interview, which he took from Sir Arthur Eddington…
“Something unknown is doing we don’t know what.”

For me this pretty much sums it up.

@eden2eve Sounds like you really enjoyed the show. So did I. All they did for me was prove that God does indeed exist, and she is having fun with the scientists.

I wish I would of seen that show. I probally would have agreed with Depak Chopra over the other two anyway over the “new age atheist mumbo jumbo of the universe and life coming from nothing” and the cynical religious dogma.

@Ben_Dover They proved God exists? Why hasn’t this made international headlines?

Ben_Dover's avatar

@FireMadeFlesh The last huge pronouncement of this magnitude regarding God was in the 60’s when Time Magazine Asks, Is God Dead!
Don’t want to have contradictory news flashes do we?

@Ben_Dover Sure, why not? There were plenty of contradictory news flashes about the orbital engine (not that it is on the same scale of importance).
