What is the best kind of air purifier to purchase because we own cats?

My sister is going to visit for 3 weeks, she does not have cats.
Has anyone used a air purifier or ionizer that would purify the air
in our house. Are they really effective at cleaning the air of particles or odors?

here is a good article from consumer’s report.
I had wasted 250.00 on the Ionic Breeze by Sharper Image and it was found out later that the machine did not clean the air at all. I never bought another one, so I can’t recommend a good one, only not recommend a bad one.

well i dont own a cat, but id check with the vets office to see about the best one. but be sure to get one with a filter that you can wash and parts you can wash.
