Which do you prefer - tomboys or girly girls?

I’m not sure that I understand what you’re asking. Are you asking if we think you are a tomboy or a girly girl? Or what we prefer? Or whether we are tomboys/girlygirls?

Sorry for making that unclear, I was asking whats better about girly girls then tomboys, if guys are always complaining about the make up, and haveing to rember aniversarys, never being able to hang with the friends when the girl always wants to tag along? Is that better? :]

@Ramani, well in that case, my answer still stands. I love tom-boys. I’ve been looking for a girl who will go shooting and camping with me for a while now.

Oh, I can’t really answer that since I’m not a guy.
However I will say that most people have no idea what they really want. They may say they like one thing while their actions repeatedly show otherwise.
I have always been sort of in the middle of this one. I love to fight, play in the dirt, go fishing with my husband… but I know how to clean up nice. I’ve never had trouble getting attention from the guys, even if I am covered in mud. It’s all about finding someone that likes you for who you are. :)
Not to mention that everyone has different tastes. Some guys will go for the tomboy every time, some guys will go for the girly girl types.

it’s sort of like deciding which is better, a banana split, or a sundae. I think tomboy girls are handier because of their lack of mega priss.

Are those the only two options for a woman to be?

@Ramani I don’t really have a preference. I like girls. If they prefer to wear jeans and go hiking in the mountains or fishing, that is super cool with me. Sorry, dear/ I am taken. And my wife is no girlie girl either. But if she were, that would be just fine with me too.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. I always found the term girlie girl a misnomer similar tomboy, though tomboy has more of a narrow focus. I would have to say I would more go for the girlie girl than the tomboy because the tomboy would more than not be caught in a mini. I would like to be with the tomboy because she would more than likely want to build a deck, get under the hood of the car, etc. But in the end, the girlie girl wins not because of all the war pain, but because she will embrace the mini more.

For both extremes in your examples each carry their own baggae in the way the woman has to remain committed to that image. I prefer a little of both with a huge dose of confidence in their ability to be both down and dirty and soft and dressed up! ;)

I’ve notived that boys are more friends with the tomboys, and more in relationships with the girly girls. But some guys I know would prefer the Tomboy. I guess it depends on the person and what their type is.

I would say a tomboy with a feminine aspect to her. I mean a tough cookie who is not afraid to break a nail or rough things out now and again but still does not lose the girl part of her. I have seen a few girls who had that combination and guys found them charming!

Tomboys. I think more of them are willing to be friends, instead of either hating you or trying to date you.
Generalizing ftw

tomboys for sure, they are friendlier than most girlly girls, girly girls are always so bitch like this one girl in my class who wears a mountain of make up on her face.

I can tell you my fiance would say tomboys. Neither of us like girlie girls. They seem more high maintenance.

I guess if we’ve only got the two overly generalized extremes, I pick a tomboy.
I don’t just want someone to kiss and lay in bed with. I want an activities partner, too. And I feel like a tomboy is more likely to be into computers, computer games, and science fiction.
I just don’t know how I could relate to a girl whose only interests are shopping, clothes, and toy dogs.
Generalizations are fun.
