How do you make gummy candy?

Asked by HungryGuy (15987points) September 14th, 2010

What are the ingredients and how do you make it? Where do you buy molds? And can you make your own molds?

Gummy Bears
CDKitchen http://www.cdkitchen.com
Serves/Makes: 2 cups | Difficulty Level: 3 | Ready In: 30–60 minutes

Ingredients:
1 package flavored gelatin powder
7 packages gelatin powder, unsweetened, unflavored
½ cup cold water

Directions:
In a small saucepan, mix flavored and unflavored gelatin. Stir it up. Pour cold water in, stir with spatula until you have a messy blob. Turn heat on medium, melt blob. Stir until blob is melted. Pour into bear molds. Stick in freezer for 10 minutes to cool.

If you don’t have bear molds, take the rack out of your toaster oven and put it on the counter. Place a big sheet of aluminum foil over it. Shove the aluminum foil down into the gaps, leaving strip like molds to make Gummy worms.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I need to know :-) But I don’t want to make bears or worms…

I dont think those gummy bears would come out that good based on the recipe. They would be pretty much jello instead of that nice gummy texture
