Can you help me find the origin and full text of this saying?"?

Asked by niceluckylady (2points) September 15th, 2010

Joli stated in a comment “I read somewhere that if you want to know what it’s like to be old, put pebbles in your shoes and wipe vaseline on your glasses.” I read this too and would like to find the reference. I went to Joli’s page but she has not been there for years. Could you help me find this document. I believe it was referenced as a grandchilds question to a grandparent?

You’re old as you feel! I’ve seen 80 years old people with more life than some teenagers!

Put cotton in your ears and pebbles in your shoes.
Pull on rubber gloves.
Smear Vaseline over your glasses,
and there you have it: instant old age.
