Is there a site to view taped aviation radar back in the 80's?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) September 16th, 2010

On July 5, 1982, my brother in law and family departed Nashville for Venice, Forida. A family of four. CAP told us his plane never arrived at its destination. His plane number was N505HP. Last seen on Miami radar on the date above and never again. We were advised that his plane fell apart somewhere over Jacksonville, Florida and out into the Gulf of Mexico. This has been a very questionable incident, since all perished that day and no aircraft wreckage was ever located. We have many unanswered questions. Question: Does the FAA keep recorded aviation flight radar tapes? If so, would they go back to 1982 and is there a website to view these tapes?
