Have you ever used the "greeter" service while vacationing in a city?

I’ve never heard of this service before but when I went to Prague, the first thing I did was book in for a tour of the city. It was a walking tour but as Prague is fairly small we got to see quite a bit of it. Most of the tour guides were students supplementing their income during the summer. Getting the tour was really helpful – it gave me lots of ideas for things I wanted to see during my week there.
