I asked a question, why can't I find it after editing?

I asked a question, had 1 response that I read, added a follow-up comment, then it was sent to editing.
The site said that I successfully completed editing, and the question would be available shortly or soon. Can you define shortly or soon? In the computer age, and one of instant gratification, what really is a reasonable time frame to expect that my question and subsequent entries can be viewed?
