Can cats get colds?

Asked by andrew (16543points) March 20th, 2007
My cat has been sneezing a whole bunch recently, making it sound like he has a sinus infection. Is this possible?

Sure. It could be some sort of resperatory infection, or allergies, or even just a cold.

I'm pretty sure it can... my cat sometimes looks like she needs to blow her nose.

Yes, cats can get colds. It is not caused by the same viruses that give colds to humans.
