Do b&w laser printers produce nice b&w photos. Can you use glossy paper on a laser printer.

Asked by pattyb (794points) March 31st, 2008 from iPhone

I rarely use my color printer for photo prints, its so much cheaper to send out. But once in a while I would like to make 8×10b&w prints. Would a laser printer make a good photo print.

Laser printers always have that matte-finish to them, AFAIK. There are tons of other reasons for getting a laser printer, but photo printing isn’t one of them.

Andrew is right; black and white laser printers will never be able to produce the mid-level grays and gradients as well as an inkjet. Not to mention your prints won’t be as archival since the toner can easily flake off the paper.

its actually way cheaper to get them at a store anyways well for 4×6 is at least. I think at walgreens its only 15 cents each sometimes they even have it at 10 cents. It beats buying a printer and paper. But I always have loved developing film at least in a blackroom myself. It just feels more justifying.
