Thanks for your concern. I don’t drink sugary drinks for the very reason you describe, but when I do drink just a little it makes me ravenously thirsty. There have been times I’ve eaten chocolate or candy bars with sugar and they do not have this effect, Sometimes it is necessary to eat a snickers bar or something similar when my blood sugar gets low.

I do take insulin and Metformin—after fifteen years as a diabetic I am basically in pretty good health. I am on Social Security Disability for a gunshot injury when being shot and left for dead in a 2012 robbery; and was diagnosed a diabetic in 2005

I will probably be going back to work soon———because SS Disability is only good for three years and then must be renewed—I got on disability in 2015 (took that long to get on it) and renewed recently in 2018. In 2015 I had no use of my right arm and couldn’t even open my right hand. Today I have stiffness and pain and can’t do much manual labor, but there are a lot of jobs I can do, —and living on disability is not a comfortable lifestyle. Everything, even decent food, is just out of reach.

I drank a little Coca-cola a few days ago and was quickly reminded of how I cannot drink this stuff. The sugary thirst was almost like an allergic reaction.
