How to sort files in Chinese pinyin in File Explorer?

Asked by yaujj48 (1189points) June 26th, 2021

I have collected some Chinese songs and label them in Chinese. I like to sort by alphabetical order, but it uses a different language and the computer does not sort by pinyin but rather Unicode. I tried to search the Internet but I can’t get an answer. Can you guys help me here?

The setting I am using is File Explorer.

From some brief research, it looks like a more difficult problem than some might think.

On Apple computers, however, it is possible to do this for Chinese.

The best answer I found for Windows suggests editing the cultural settings and the registry, which looks less hopeful, but might work better than what you’re seeing now.
