What are some of your favourite comfort TV programmes?

Somtimes when I am feelin down or ill I want to watch something that I find comforting on TV. This is when my Michael Palin travel DVD’s come out or BBC comedies like Jam and Jerusalem or Keeping Mum etc.

Comfort TV to me is something that I don’t really have to concentrate too much on, I can watch the screen and listen to the words without having to take it all in, it gives me a chuckle without being offensive or rude (I don’t mind offensive or rude but there are times when more innocent humour is better suited to my mood), the characters are likable and the overall theme is positive and uplifting.

This is my idea of comfort, yours maybe different but what are some of your favourite programmes that fit your idea of comfort TV?
