Sharp pain in my lower abdomen for the last 30 minutes, should I go to the emergency room?

Sharp pain that feels like intense menstrual cramps except I’m not on my period. I haven’t had a period in at least two months but this is not unusual for me because I’ve always had irregular periods. I was on the pill for a couple of years but I haven’t had a period since I stopped taking the pill two months ago. This is the second time this week that this has happened to me except today it’s even more intense. I took some Midol and some ibuprofin and it has calmed the pain a bit but I can hardly move and I am very worried about this pain. I know I have to see a doctor but I’m not sure if I should just go to the emergency or just wait to make an appointment. If you were in my position what would you do?
