My dog is afraid of balls. How do I get him used to them?

My dog is a dachshund beagle mix. He’s afraid of basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, and even large tennis balls. He is pretty short so the larger balls go up to his face. He tries to avoid them at all times. How do I get him used to it? Please help!!!
