Any advice for taking care of my new poinsettia?

Semi- funny story ahead! Okay, so I went with my dad to his job’s Christmas party and they did a gift raffle. By the time I won, there was either a bottle of wine left or the poinsettia. Since I’m still underage, I couldn’t grab the wine, but now I’m left with a huge poinsettia sitting in my house and I don’t really know how to take care of it. This thing is the size of a small shrub.
Normally I am not able to keep plants alive very long, so I’m a little worried for this innocent plant that I might kill. I’ve watered it and looked up tips for caring for them online, but I was hoping someone else might have some tips for me, the non-green thumb?
