What is it with young kids wanting to watch the same movie/video over and over?

My 8 year old niece came to visit last week and I had a whole slew of kids DVDs. Christmas ones, funny ones/cute ones (Stuart Little, Garfield the Movie) and what did she want to watch for the 30th time? Some Spooky something ‘er other cartoon video.
