I'm trying to find more exposure for my friend's music. What works best?

I have a musician friend who is Independant right now, but hoping to go mainstream.His name is Alo Moniz and his band is called “Alo and the Narcissist” he already has an album on Itunes. He has FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace, a YouTube channel, and even a band website. He isn’t signed to a label yet- and I’d like to see him at least get some radio play. What makes a new artist “stand-out” for you? For the musically curious, here’s the link to the band’s website:
