What makes some copier paper "hang" in my printer?

I have a brand new Epson printer. It works great, except for some copier paper it rejects. I ran out of paper and went to Dollar General Store for more. My printer has totally rejected it and has caused many “hangups”. Not believing it was the copier paper, I replaced it with GeorgiaPacific paper. It was like the difference between daylight and dark. Question: is all copier paper not the same?
