Severe menstrual cramps or something else?

So each month my menstrual cramps seem to get a little worse, but always bareable. But this month I was just sitting here and it was like I was stabbed in the stomach. My cramps had started but they are worse than ever before. They hurt all the way up my stomach and all the way down into my legs and my whole back. I can’t even stand up and advil and all that doesnt work anymore. I am not a crier and i have a high pain tolerance but these cramps definetely make me cry.
So do you think that these are just severe cramps or could it be something else, if so, what else could it be?
Also do you know anything that could help at least ease the pain?
