Didn't Charlie Brown have it rougher than today's kids?

The recent national outcry against bullying has got me to thinking about a couple of things.

1. Where the fuck were all of these concerned individuals when I was getting the shit kicked out of me and not taking a gun to school?

and

2. I have never come across anyone, real or not, that had a rougher go of it during his formative years than good ‘ol Charlie Brown. This kid had a million excuses to go postal (no offense chuck) or off himself and he never did.

What do you all think kept him from acting out on the juvenile hell that his day to day life was? What kept Chuck from dragging Mr. Brown’s .38 out of the nightstand and heading into class? What kept him from downing a bottle of Mrs. Brown’s ‘nerve pills’?

we all know it wasn’t that self absorbed, bird loving fucking dog of his
