Is prom worth it?

Ok, so here’s the deal. It’s my senior year of highschool. Prom is approaching and I don’t know if I should go. I don’t have a date, I don’t have a dress, and I don’t like dancing. To me, it seems kind of pointless to go, but that’s not what others think.
My sister said I should go, my friends said I should go, and I’ve even had teachers tell me I should go, but I don’t know that I want to.
ALL of my friends have dates. I would be the only one without a date. I’ve been in that situation at previous dances and hated it; I don’t want to go through it again.
Also, I’ve gone with a date and it didn’t end well. He said he really liked me, so I gave him a chance. Next thing I know he’s dancing with the school slut. I guess I’m saying even if I found a date I’d be worried it would end the same, and I do NOT want that to happen again.
I need help deciding. All feedback will be greatly appreciated.
