Has one of your local tv stations made it big time with a local show?

A lot of local television stations have made attempts to create a show or programming that would be suitable for the networks to broadcast nationwide. Has one of your local tv stations ever made this effort and what was the outcome? Some may remember Hew Haw back in the late 60s. It started out in Nashville as a local program, but because of its popularity, it was syndicated to be shown nationwide across America.
