Any thoughts on this theory regarding women's health (it's okay to proceed, men, it's not gruesome!)

I’m “battling” the lamest cold ever. I’m not that congested, it didn’t even bother going to my chest, and I haven’t particularly slowed down for it.

I’m also having my period.

The woman I’m living with is a very spiritual-minded healing type person. She thinks that having my period simultaneously lessened the severity and length of my cold.

Any thoughts on this? Did I bleed out the germs?
