Has anyone in this neighborhood had experience with narrow-angle glaucoma?

Asked by Jeruba (55837points) June 9th, 2011

Now on my calendar is an iridotomy in each eye to reduce the risk of an acute attack. Narrow-angle (angle-closure) glaucoma is not like the regular kind of glaucoma and can cause severe, excruciatingly painful attacks, I’m told, possibly leading to loss of vision if not treated at once.

I learned from an ophthalmological test yesterday that I have very narrow angles. Having the procedure seems like the only reasonable option. I’d just like to hear from those who know about it first hand.
