Would it be better if the US president served only one term?

Say five or six years. It would prevent a dangerous and insulting cult of personality from emerging around the president. It would, in my opinion, shift power away from the executive and back to the legislative branch where it belongs. It would make all presidents “lame ducks”. It would give any president less time to screw up your life.
Etc.

Just so you know, I disliked the last president, and I do not like the current president. I have no personal or political dog in this fight. Just a question. Nothing more.
