Was it bold or disingenuous of the President to say that there may not be enough money to print Social Security checks?

In an arranged interview with CBS On Tuesday, President Obama said that he could not guarantee that Social Security checks would be sent out on August 3 if the debt limit is not raised over $14,000,000,000,000.

First of all, there is enough revenue to cover SS in August without debt ceiling changes.

Plus, if SS checks don’t go out, somebody will surely ask if Reps, Senators, Bureaucrats and the President got paid. The answer, of course, will be yes. None of those creeps is going to want to admit that to that contrast.

In that regard, he is being disingenuous.

On the other hand, even though everyone but the Totally Clueless already knows it, most politicians are uncomfortable admitting directly that the Government routinely steals from the Social Security Administration, depleting it, and leaving behind an increasingly worthless IOU. They would prefer that we entertain the illusion that our Social Security Account Number actually refers to an account-which most people interpret as something that contains money.

That’s pretty bold.

Which one is the President?
