How can I help my friend?

My friend just posted a status that said “Idk if I’ll be able to sleep tonight… I’m kinda depressed… Dont text me but message me on here… I’d like some company…”
When I asked him what’s wrong he said “My ex who I dated for a really long time kept saying we would get back together sometime ‘cause she’s having problems with family so she can’t have a bf, just told me she met a guy she really likes…”
I don’t know what to say. What would you say?
