What is a good San Francisco gift to give family in Hungary?

Asked by Pietro (65points) July 24th, 2011

I am going to visit extended family in Budapest and would like to hear suggestions of affordable gifts that one can only find in SF or in the U.S. that would be appreciated by Hungarians. Some ideas I found elsewhere are peanut-brittle, smoked salmon (though it could be taken by customs), liquor, baseball hats/shirts. It would be better if it could be a family gift as opposed to gifts for individuals. They take pride in their regional wine, so wine might not be such a great gift. Peanut butter is not very available, but it is sort of hit or miss as many Hungarians don’t like it. We brought souvenir type items before and our relatives weren’t that won over by them (ie. cute San Francisco mugs and shirts and street paintings of sites in SF).
