Will withholding rewards encourage my cat to do his job?

Honestly, what’s the point of feeding and housing these creatures if they aren’t going to pull their weight in the household?

My cat does absolutely nothing all day except complain about the food and sleep in the sun on the bathroom floor.

Today, I’m mopping behind the commode and discovered mouse droppings! did I mention the cat spends all damned day in the bathroom? This will reflect very poorly on his annual performance review.

So how about it? Do you have certain expectations from your pets?
