Recommendations for 1TB External Disks?

I am searching for an external drive with at least 1 TB of space and am considering Seagate’s FreeAgent, Maxtor, WD, and the slightly fancier stuff such as Drobo and Apple’s 1TB Time Capsule.

I am leaning towards the USB/Firewire drives rather than Time Capsule because they are cheaper and my network wont be sluggish every time the Mac decides to do a backup.

Which USB Drive do you recommend? Should I get it at Amazon (as I usually do) or is there a cheaper place to get it?

If you know of a reliable and affordable 2TB Disk, that may be even better. I just want it to be a single enclosure.
