Does the fact that your employer essentially buys your time bum you out?

There is never enough time to do everything we want to do. When you work for someone else – and it does seem like there is no getting around this – they are essentially buying a part of your life. Does knowing this bum you out? Do you get paid what you think your time is worth? In terms of maximizing free time, what’s the better strategy – make a lot of money doing a job you dislike so that you can afford to make time for yourself later, or make little money doing a job you love and having to do it longer?
