Good Places to Live in Brooklyn?

I’ve seen this thread on here but the answers all seem to be over a year old. So I wanted to ask again. My fiance and I are moving to Brooklyn from DC (Columbia Heights area) and are looking for a relatively safe neighborhood with access to restaurants, grocery, etc. Doesn’t have to be hipster central and we’re looking to pay in the $1,500 – 2,000 range for a 1 bedroom. Any suggestions/tips/info you can provide would be a HUGE help. Thanks!
