Is it healthy to do exercise for a few days then stop the next day then go again?

My 7th grade gym teacher has us do our exercises each day.
10 jumping jacks
10 steel jacks
10 prison squats
10 scissors
10 forward and backward arm circles
10 twists
10 ankle hops
15 lunges
15 side lunges
15 knee-ups
15 Frankenstein (kick up and touch your toe with the opposite hand)

We did this everyday until winter break (2 weeks). Then we came back and did it for the rest of the week (Our legs were sore) then stopped today. We won’t do them tomorrow either. But Monday we will.
Is this on-off thing okay for my body?
