Do consider yourself a cynic?

The idea for this question came after seeing the 85 pictures of a three day-old baby in at least 40 different outfits that have been in my Facebook feed for the last 72 hours. Every time I look at another picture of this kid in yet another fresh outfit with matching hair bow and socks all I can do is do is be incredibly annoyed and think about what really lies in store for these new parents. That’s when it hit me yet again that I really am a cynical person.

Do you think of yourself as cynical? If you do, when and how did you come to this realization?

Disclaimer: I love my children and wouldn’t change anything about having had them. I just vividly remember those first couple of months and all the things no one tells you about having a new baby.
