How to befriend my new pet rat?

I’ve a new male young Rattus Norwegicus. I don’t know the age and could not find it out.
One biting already occurred. He stays mainly in his hut within his cage.
Interaction is attempted, but he mostly seems to want to rest and not be disturbed.
