Have you ever regretted buying something used or refurbished?

Usually when I’m looking at electronics I’m tempted to buy refurbished to save a little money but it always seems too risky to me. I’ve heard of many people who were satisfied with refurbished laptops and tv’s and such, but I always think I’ll be the one to get the one that craps out. Care to share your experiences?

I was online shopping for fathers day and came across this camera and was interested but then saw it was a refurb. My dad hates refurbished items so not sure about that purchase.
