Pedometer users: How many steps do you take a day?

I have recently gotten a pedometer to try and increase the amount of steps I take a day. I am now trying to establish a baseline. Yesterday, I hit over 4700 steps. Today, I am well over 6500.
Do you keep track of such things?
How many steps a day is normal?
