How can I get a rug really clean?

I have this rug that is about 3’x5’ maybe, fairly small. I’ve had it for years though and most of it is black (has a big Steeler symbol in the middle, so a lot of white and gray too). Over the years my cat has vomited on it (he literally seems to vomit almost solely on this rug) so many times I can’t even count, and there are numerous stains on it that look really gross. I love this rug and just simply need a way to really deep clean it, so I was wondering can I take it to a dry cleaner? I don’t have a steam cleaner or really even a normal vacuum (I Borrow my neighbors occassionally but it sucks)...Or should I leave it outside and let the rains get to it? BUt then it will be wet? It’s a pretty thick rug, maybe an inch, so I feel like it might stay wet for a while. I am fed up with this gross rug and simply looking for a solution and at this point the vomit stains seem to be embedded, so, can anyone help?
