Do you think that the recent string of mass shootings is a conspiracy by the government to implement gun control or some other reasons?

I’ve heard a lot of people refer to this recent outbreak of shooting sprees (especially the Sandy Hook Massacre) is somehow a ploy by the government to implement gun control. I don’t necessarily believe that, but I’m interested in your thoughts on this and whether or not you believe it and if you have any evidence to support your claim or if it is mereley just how you feel.
