Has anyone ever smoked pipe dope?

People are now snorting bath salts even though they have no Earthly idea what’s in the stuff. So it just dawned on me that somebody must have concluded anything called dope could be smoked. What happens when someone gives pipe dope a try? Is there anything so obviously a bad idea that nobody will try it to get high?
