What is your experience with binge TV watching?

What series have you binged watched (watched an entire season in one weekend, e.g.)? Do you think it enhances or degrades your experience? Any negative consequences (other than wasted time)?

I recently binged on Upstairs Downstairs (first the old and then the new version) and as with previous binges, afterward felt like I had developed an unhealthy attachment to the characters and their “life.” I mourned the end of the series and relationship with the characters for more than a week! I love the depth I get from watching the episodes back to back, but am afraid the obsessive part of me means I should just say “no.”
