How do you think I should tell him I miss him?

My current boyfriend and I broke up.

I’m now communicating with this new guy by texting. I have met with him once in person. He’s out of town right now so we are actively keeping in touch through texting and email.

I don’t want to bombard him with calls and texts that I miss him so things have been sort of quiet on my end in that regard. I really like him and I want him to like me.
How do you think I should let him know this? I haven’t let on that I miss him and can’t wait to see him again because I don’t want to scare him off.

“I miss you.”
“When will I see you?”
“When will you be back in town?”
Or maybe you can think of some other way I should tell him? I could use some advice here.
