Will the new Star Wars films completely ignore/contradict the Expanded Universe?

They did say that the new Star Wars films would be original stories. But you could technically translate that however you wish. I mean, original stories that won’t mess with the Expanded Universe? Original stories that have characters from the EU without necessarily adapting any EU story?

I’m only a fan of the EU to an extent. The classic stories such as The Thrawn Trilogy, really up until the Jacen and Jaina adventures ended. I sort of liked the New Jedi Order and the Vong thing, but I haven’t read much to really develop a full opinion, yet I liked how they finally killed a character or two, being that Star Wars has been all happily ever after until that point. The stuff after the Vong has been completely ridiculous (basically everyone dies and the whole Galactic Civil War is repeating itself). I haven’t read any of them but the synopsis and I’m like, “Okay, no.”

I was just wondering in the end if there’s any more news, however rumored they are, about what the news films will be about.
