(NSFW) Is "self-pleasure" necessary for humans to live?

This is a serious question, I don’t mean to be rude or anything. But from a biological standpoint, masturbation and sex fascinates me. But I read something the other day that said males must masturbate at some point. Is that true? Sounds strange, but they were adamant about it. Do they mean like. . .you would die or something or be really unhealthy if you NEVER EVER masturbate your entire life? Is masturbation like one of those necessary bodily function like burping and farting that everyone obviously does but is too embarrassed to admit it? Interestingly enough though, the same person I read this from mentioned that women don’t need to masturbate as much as men do, something like that.

On a side note, I’m confused whether or not masturbation prevents or can lead to prostate cancer. I read a lot of studies done saying that it can do both depending on your age. If you masturbate a lot in your younger years, something about the hormones possibly leading to prostate cancer. But when you’re much older, masturbation becomes beneficial as you are essentially “flushing things out” of your system. Then most I read mention the latter, but not the former. Or vice versa. So I don’t know which is really true.
