I owned a Newton MessagePad. Did you?

It’s the 20th anniversary of the launch of Apple’s precursor to the iPad, an anniversary worth celebrating a little if you, like me, are an Apple lover and early adopter (not always the best of combinations). I bought my first of two MessagePads and accessories in San Francisco on my birthday for around $1100 (I may still be paying it off)! Heavy, operationally klugy and, frankly, barely useful as it was, I loved this beautiful sorta-little PDA, and I was sad that it became obsolete so quickly. So, are you still paying off yours.
