What is the best way to prevent trashing my rubbish bin?

Today was trash day per usual I put out the trash curbside before work and after work took it back.

I’ve been having this problem where everyone walking or biking by will drop their trash in after the trash has been taken. They only remove bagged items.

It bothers me that I have to turn over the bin and dump it out and pick up the trash to bag it. I usually console myself with rather here then on the ground. But today a partially filled beer bottle which drenched the bottom and some undies that were more then just beer soaked. Who does that?!

Well the bin is large the outer rim is larger and its a tight squeeze and sometimes drops down when I put my bagged trash in it. I sprung for the heavy duty stretch ones a couple of times I made it worked ok but the garbage collectors took that along with the rest leaving me in the same spot.

That and I resented wasting the bags I normallty wouldn’t have bought I am cheap when it comes to throw away items and don’t like waste.

Is there another solution or do I just have to suck it up?
